Hi! I am a wife, mom of two, and Speech Language Pathologist. I have worked in nursing homes in the Mechanicsburg/Carlisle area for over ten years. I love my job, but I have realized that the most joy comes from talking to the residents, hearing their stories, and looking at their pictures.
A few months ago, I dove into my own grandmother’s photo collection (bins and boxes full of hundreds of pictures going back to 1945). I was amazed at what my grandmother and great-grandmother had preserved and I wanted it to be accessible and appreciated. I had no clue where to start, but I ended up finding some online classes on photo organizing. From there I bought a scanner, learned how to use it, and got to work. After many hours of sorting through pictures, letters, newspaper clippings and mementos, I felt a great accomplishment that my family photos were organized and safe. The best ones were the safest – on my computer and also saved to a flash drive. I used these digital images to create a beautiful photo album as well as a video of my grandparents life (which they kindly narrated for me). I am so thankful to be able to know my grandparents and to have the opportunity to capture their stories.
If you have a photo collection sort of like my grandmother, and just don’t know where to start sorting through it, I would love to help you!
If you have some sorted images and would like them to be scanned to a digital format with precision, quality, and in an organized fashion, I’m definitely your girl!
If you want help putting together a family video or album, please reach out (this is my favorite!).
Even if you just want to do these things yourself and need some encouragement or a good starting place – I would love to chat.
